Privacy Policy
Effective July 13, 2026
Coffeetable is operated by Kushal SM. This policy explains what Coffeetable collects and how it is used when you connect the app to ChatGPT, use the website, or open a shared reading.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and display name when you sign in with Google or email and password.
- Reading requests: the question you ask, requested book titles, searches within books, selected passages, and generated reading metadata.
- Reading history: readings served to your account, pages included, whether a reading was opened, and approximate progress through the compiled excerpt.
- Technical information: security logs, request timing, errors, and aggregate website analytics supplied by Cloudflare.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your account, find requested editions, build and display readings, avoid repeatedly recommending the same material, remember approximate reading progress, secure the service, diagnose failures, and understand aggregate usage.
Public reading links
When Coffeetable renders a reading, it creates an unguessable public URL. Anyone who receives that URL can open the reading without signing in. The shared page contains the reading question, book and author names, and the selected passages. Do not share a reading URL if you do not want other people to access it.
Service providers
Coffeetable uses Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and aggregate web analytics; InstantDB for account data; Google when you choose Google sign-in; and OpenAI's ChatGPT as the host through which the app is invoked. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Retention and deletion
Account records, reading history, and public reading artifacts are retained while needed to operate Coffeetable, maintain reading continuity, secure the service, and understand usage. Disconnecting the app from ChatGPT does not automatically erase previously stored records or public links. You can request deletion of your account data and hosted reading links by emailing kushalsokke@gmail.com.
Sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information to the service providers described above, when you intentionally share a public reading URL, or when required to protect the service or comply with law.
Your choices
You may disconnect Coffeetable in ChatGPT, avoid creating or sharing public reading links, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. Requests may require verification of the account email.
